Tea Cozy large art print

This art print began at the kitchen table, during a reading lesson with my youngest daughter. I pointed to the word toweland said, “See? T + owel makes towel.”
She paused, considered this carefully, and replied with complete confidence:
“Tea plus owl is a tea party!”

The idea lodged itself firmly in my mind, and before long I was sketching owls of all kinds enjoying a proper cup. What emerged was a woodland tea gathering full of quiet personalities and gentle humor.

A Great Horned Owl peers deep into the teapot, searching for The Dregs. A Snowy Owl offers his best side while dutifully stirring his cup. The Great Gray Owl is eager to gossip—and is quite literally spilling her tea. The Barred Owl is entirely elsewhere, Having A Moment with her drink. And at the center of it all sits the Pygmy Owl, perched atop a stack of books, grumpy and resolute, refusing tea altogether because she Prefers Coffee.

Rendered in pen and ink with watercolor, this illustration celebrates early reading mishaps, childhood logic, and the small, magical leaps of imagination that turn everyday moments into stories worth keeping.
